BIO:

ONE blue eye!

Haze came from a young family that knew he needed more than they could give him and they agreed to let us find him a home where he can grow into the wonderful dog he can and should be.

Haze loves to play and rough house with other dogs but will settle down when play time is over. He loves snuggling on the couch with you and will even lay his head on your shoulder and comfort you when you watch something sad on TV. Haze is a great combination of Dachshund and Beagle and would be great with kids 6 and over but remember those sharp little teeth so if he chewed on something that was not what he was supposed to do then redirect him, he’s fine with that. With that being said, he’s not a chewer and his adult teeth should be coming in pretty soon.  He is great at following the other dogs' lead in going outside to potty and would be great with another younger dog to play with, please don’t subject your senior to a rough neck puppy.

We see nothing negative about Haze and we know that he’ll be a great addition for the right family - an active family, but not too young of a family. Haze would love to go camping with you if you were a camping family but remember no off leash, he’s a hunter by both breeds. We believe a fenced yard would be a must for this active little boy.

Got questions? Ask them but don’t wait too long cause this sweet boy won’t last long at all!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
