BIO:

Hi everyone, this is Ruby but we call her Ruby Rue!  Ruby is a Min Pin/Dachshund mix but don’t tell her that because she’s all dachshund in personality.  She was found as a stray in TX with her babies, unfortunately 1 of those babies was hit by a car and didn’t survive.

Despite everything Ruby has been through she’s still very sweet and loves attention.  She’s very calm and spends most of her days snuggled on the couch in a blanket.  Ruby gets along great with her 2 foster sisters and foster brother and of course her human foster brother, she really loves him and gets excited when he comes home from school.

Ruby is potty trained but you have to watch her subtle cues.  She’s fine sleeping in the doggy bed at night or up in the big bed, she’s not a whiner.

Won’t you give Ruby that forever home she so deserves?  She’s had a rough life and finally deserves to be treated like a Queen.  Can you be that for her?  I hope your answer is YES and hope to hear from you soon!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
