BIO:  Meet beautiful Hope! She is a cream long coat doxie and GORGEOUS! She does need to lose a few pounds to get back her girlish figure, but Hope’s foster mom is working on that.

Hope was surrendered by a breeder. Hope is done having puppies and is ready to become a pet, but it is going to take a little time for her to adjust to the good life ahead. Hope  is timid at first and will need time to adjust to being a pet. Breeder dog experience is a plus.

Hope is very timid at first and will run and hide when frightened or unsure. She will need an experienced doxie owner and another small, adult dog in the household to help her learn the routine. Patience, a schedule to potty, a daily routine, and more patience will be key to Hope coming out of her shell.

The must haves (no exceptions, please) for Hope include:

  • A fenced yard since she is still learning to walk and potty on a leash
  • No apartment, high-rises, or condos.  She knows how to sing! LOL
  • Someone with patience who will keep her socialized and on a routine
  • Another small, adult dog to learn from and to keep her company when you are gone
  • An adopter within a 50-mile radius of Sarasota, Florida

If you meet these requirements, we encourage you to fill out an application on a computer, not a smartphone or tablet. If you are up to the challenge of a breeder dog, you will be rewarded beyond measure, but understand it will take time. Hope is so worth it! Contact Hope’s foster mom if you have any questions. She wants the perfect home for Hope. Hope deserves it!

Hope is having a dental on May 31. She is expected to lose only 6-8 teeth.

============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.
