BIO: Oscar came from Indiana when the family had to give him up because he was not good with the toddlers. Our wish list for this sweet boy includes:
- A fenced yard
- Another dog to keep him company if you have to be away from home
- No apartments
- No young children or grandchildren
Oscar is a great boy! As with many Dachshunds, if they are not kept around small children as the dog ages, they can’t stand the quick movements or loud noises that toddlers make. We do think that he would do fine in a home with children or grandchildren over 10 years of age that know how to respect a dog’s personal space.
He gets along really well with our other dogs and hasn’t shown any aggression at all. He also did fine with our outside cats on the occasions he was near them. Oscar loves to wander around in a fenced yard and lay in the sunshine. He’s completely potty trained and loves a doggie door. He does need the fenced yard but it’s not necessary that you have the doggie door.
Oscar is very loving, affectionate and enjoys burrowing under a blanket for a good cuddle.
Unfortunately, Oscar lost most of his teeth in his recent dental. He only has 4 left, 2 canines and 2 incisors. He eats slightly softened food and small, hard kibble really well. He’s in good health but will need his arthritis medicine for the rest of his life.
A wonderful little senior pup, Oscar deserves a loving forever home!
