BIO:  Cisco was one of 5 Dachshunds dumped all over Williamson County in middle Tennessee. It was either a breeder dump or an owner that could no longer care for them. Cisco's list includes:

  • Needs a fenced yard
  • Another dachshund or two to snuggle with
  • No apartments
  • Helpful if someone is home a lot

Cisco is one of the friendliest foster Dachshunds we’ve had around for a while, he doesn’t know a stranger and loves attention. He gets along with all the other fosters and resident Dachshunds, but we aren’t sure about big dogs how he would be with them or cats.

Unfortunately, due to poor and no dental care all his life, he’ll be having dental surgery to remove the rest of his teeth that have not fallen out so he’ll not be ready to go to his forever home until sometime around the first part of March. Don’t let that stop you from applying because he is so friendly he won’t be available long. So don’t wait until he’s ready to go get your application in... get approved now and he’ll be yours when he’s ready, then he can move right to your home. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email his foster mom.

More about Cisco in NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
